Timothy Agoglia Carey, born on March 11, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, was a unique presence in American film and television, known for his unconventional roles and contributions to independent cinema. He passed away on May 11, 1994, in Los Angeles, California, leaving behind a legacy marked by creativity and boldness.
In 1962, Carey took on multiple roles as writer, producer, director, and star of the feature film *The World's Greatest Sinner*, which featured a score by the avant-garde musician Frank Zappa. Although it did not achieve widespread commercial success, the film garnered a cult following, particularly during the midnight movie screenings in Los Angeles throughout the 1960s, cementing Carey's status as a pioneer in independent filmmaking.
Carey showcased his acting talent in several notable films, including Stanley Kubrick's *The Killing* and *Paths of Glory*, as well as John Cassavetes' *Minnie and Moskowitz* and *The Killing of a Chinese Bookie*. His diverse filmography also includes significant roles in *East of Eden*, *The Wild One*, *One-Eyed Jacks*, and *Beach Blanket Bingo*. Additionally, he made memorable appearances in the comedy *D.C. Cab* and the Monkees film *Head*. Carey's last film role was in the 1986 movie *Echo Park*.
