Biography

Im Won-hee (임원희) is a distinguished South Korean actor born on October 11, 1970. He honed his craft as a member of the renowned Daehak-ro theater troupe Mokhwa, where he showcased his talent in numerous stage productions directed by Jang Jin. Im made his cinematic debut in 1998 with Jang's darkly humorous film, The Happenings, marking the beginning of a successful career that would establish him as one of the most adaptable supporting actors in the South Korean film industry.

Throughout his career, Im has delivered memorable performances in acclaimed films such as Three... Extremes and Le Grand Chef. However, he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the character Dachimawa Lee. This iconic role first emerged in 2000 in a 35-minute short film created by director Ryoo Seung-wan, which served as both a parody and homage to the action films of the 1970s in Korea. The short film quickly captured the public's imagination, garnering over a million views online.

In 2008, Im reprised his beloved character in a full-length action-comedy film, also titled Dachimawa Lee, further solidifying his status in the entertainment industry.
