John Hodgman
Biography
John Kellogg Hodgman, born on June 3, 1971, is a multifaceted American actor, author, and humorist. He gained widespread recognition for his role as the PC in Apple's iconic "Get a Mac" advertising campaign, where he contrasted with Justin Long's Mac character. Additionally, Hodgman served as a correspondent on Comedy Central's influential program, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, enhancing his reputation in the entertainment industry.
Hodgman's literary contributions are equally notable. He has penned several works, including the satirical almanac The Areas of My Expertise, released in 2005, which cleverly plays with the concept of knowledge while providing little factual information. This was followed by his second book, More Information Than You Require, published on October 21, 2008. His writing has appeared in prestigious publications such as The Paris Review, Wired, The New York Times Magazine—where he serves as editor of the humor section—and McSweeney's Quarterly Concern. He is also a contributor to Public Radio International’s This American Life and CBC Radio One’s Wiretap.
In 2009, Hodgman made headlines as the keynote speaker at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C., further solidifying his status as a prominent figure in both comedy and literature.
