Elizabeth Banks, born on February 10, 1974, is a multifaceted American actress, producer, and director. She gained widespread recognition for her roles as Effie Trinket in the acclaimed Hunger Games series (2012–2015) and as Gail Abernathy-McKadden in the Pitch Perfect franchise (2012–2017). In a remarkable career milestone, Banks made her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015, which achieved a remarkable $69 million in its opening weekend, setting a new record for first-time directors.

Continuing her successful trajectory, she directed, wrote, produced, and starred in the 2019 reboot of Charlie's Angels, showcasing her versatility in the industry. More recently, she directed and produced the horror-comedy Cocaine Bear, released in 2023.
