Biography
Liv Lisa Fries is a talented German actress who rose to international fame through her portrayal of Charlotte Ritter in the acclaimed TV series "Babylon Berlin," which premiered in 2017. Born and raised in the Pankow district of Berlin, Fries developed a passion for acting at the age of fourteen after being inspired by Natalie Portman's performance in "Léon: The Professional."
Her acting journey began with a minor role in the 2005 film "Atomised," although her scene was ultimately cut. She made her official debut in 2006 in the series "Schimanski." Fries garnered significant attention in 2010 for her compelling performance as Linda, a troubled teenager in the TV movie "Sie hat es verdient," where she explored themes of isolation and frustration.
In 2013, she received critical acclaim for her role as Lea, a young woman battling cystic fibrosis, in the tragicomedy "Zurich." Her preparation for this challenging role earned her several awards, including the Bavarian Film Prize and the Max Ophüls Prize, showcasing her dedication and talent.
After the success of "Babylon Berlin," which explores crime in Weimar Republic-era Berlin, Fries became a prominent figure in German cinema and was honored with an Adolf Grimme Award.
