Biography

Oldřich Kaiser is a prominent figure in the Czech film and television industry, known for his extensive body of work spanning several decades. He has appeared in a variety of films, with notable recent titles including *Dark Blue World*, *Shark in the Head*, and *Handcuffs*. One of his standout performances was in Jiří Menzel's adaptation of Bohumil Hrabal's *I Served the King of England*, where he took on the lead role. He is also well-regarded for his appearances in popular TV series such as *30 Cases of Major Zeman* and *Hospital on the Edge of Town*.

Kaiser has showcased his versatility through numerous television shows, most notably in the comedic duo with Jiří Lábus. Their collaborative projects include the long-running radio improvisation series *The Tlučhořovi*, which celebrated its 800th episode in November 2007, and the successful television program *Zeměkoule*.

In addition to his acting career, Kaiser has a unique distinction in the natural world; in 2004, he co-discovered a species of shoebill named Cychrus kaiseri alongside entomologist and neurosurgeon Vladimír Beneš while in Asia. His personal life includes a previous marriage to Czech actress Naďa Konvalinková from 1980 until 2005, and since 2020, he has been married to singer-songwriter Dáša Vokatá.
