Biography
Alejandro "Alec" Mapa, born on July 10, 1965, is a multifaceted American actor, comedian, and writer. He first made waves in the theater scene when he stepped into the role of Song Liling in the Broadway production of M. Butterfly, taking over from B.D. Wong. Mapa's television career took off with memorable performances, particularly as Adam Benet in the hit series Half & Half and as the flamboyant Suzuki St. Pierre in Ugly Betty, both of which solidified his reputation in the industry.
In addition to these prominent roles, Mapa is recognized for his recurring appearance as Vern on the acclaimed series Desperate Housewives, where he showcased his comedic talent. He also ventured into reality television, co-hosting the Logo network's dating game show, Transamerican Love Story, alongside Calpernia Addams, further highlighting his versatility.
More recently, he has been seen in the role of Renzo on the series Switched at Birth, continuing to engage audiences with his dynamic performances.
