Biography

Park Bo-young (박보영) is a prominent South Korean actress, born on February 12, 1990. She launched her acting career in 2006 with a minor role in the television series Secret Campus, gradually building her portfolio before achieving widespread recognition in the 2008 comedy film Scandal Makers. Following this success, Park faced a brief hiatus in 2010 due to legal challenges involving her management agency and a film production company.

Her significant comeback came in 2012 with the fantasy romance A Werewolf Boy, which became one of Korea's most beloved melodramas. In 2015, she returned to television with the supernatural romance Oh My Ghost, where her portrayal of dual roles catapulted her to become one of the highest-paid actresses in the industry. Park continued to impress with her performances in the acclaimed series Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017), one of the highest-rated cable dramas in South Korea, and the romantic film On Your Wedding Day (2018), which topped box office charts for romance films that year.

In 2023, Park had a remarkable year, starring in the disaster thriller Concrete Utopia, which was selected as South Korea's entry for the 96th Academy Awards, and in the Netflix Original series Daily Dose of Sunshine, earning several Best Actress nominations and winning at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards. She also took on a leading role in the Disney+ Original series Light Shop (2024). Looking ahead, she is set to feature in the Netflix series Melo Movie and will portray twin sisters navigating life changes in Our Unwritten Seoul.
