Steven Allan Spielberg, born on December 18, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a renowned American filmmaker and a pivotal figure in the New Hollywood movement. Recognized as one of the most successful directors in cinematic history, Spielberg has crafted numerous films that are not only commercially successful but also critically acclaimed, with several regarded as masterpieces.

Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Spielberg later pursued his passion for filmmaking in California. He began his career directing television episodes, such as "Night Gallery" and "Columbo," before making his feature film debut with "Duel" in 1971.
