Biography
Richard William Burgi, born on July 30, 1958, in Montclair, New Jersey, is a distinguished American actor celebrated for his extensive contributions to television and film. His acting career took off in the late 1980s with guest roles on well-known series such as "Murder, She Wrote," "Matlock," and "The Flash." However, it was his portrayal of Chad Rollo on the soap opera "Another World" from 1986 to 1988 that marked his breakthrough.
Burgi achieved significant fame in 1995 when he joined the cast of the iconic primetime soap "Melrose Place." As Kyle McBride, a dynamic and multifaceted doctor, he captivated audiences from the fourth season until the show's conclusion in 1999. His compelling performance garnered him a loyal fan base and firmly established his foothold in the television landscape.
After "Melrose Place," Burgi continued to thrive, appearing in various series, including "The Sentinel," "24," "Desperate Housewives," and "Harper's Island," where he adeptly navigated roles that ranged from heroic protagonists to complex antagonists.
