Dolly Rebecca Parton, born on January 19, 1946, is an iconic American singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist, renowned for her enduring influence in country music. Parton's career took off in the 1960s after she initially found success as a songwriter, debuting with her album "Hello, I'm Dolly" in 1967. Throughout the late 1960s, she gained prominence both as a solo artist and through collaborations with Porter Wagoner. The height of her fame came during the 1970s and 1980s, solidifying her place in music history. Although the 1990s saw a dip in album sales, the 2000s marked a resurgence with several releases on independent labels, including her own Dolly Records.
