Biography

Jonathan Edward Bernthal (born September 20, 1976) is a prominent actor from the United States. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Shane Walsh in the AMC horror drama series The Walking Dead, where he was part of the main cast during its initial two seasons from 2010 to 2012 and returned for the 2018 season. Bernthal further solidified his fame by embodying Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His portrayal extended across various projects, including the second season of Daredevil in 2016, the standalone series The Punisher from 2017 to 2019, and the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to premiere in 2025. Additionally, he will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026. For his role as Michael Berzatto, a restaurant owner in the series The Bear, Bernthal was honored with a Primetime Emmy Award.
