Alicia Augello Cook, widely recognized as Alicia Keys, was born on January 25, 1981, and has made a significant mark as an American singer-songwriter. A gifted pianist with classical training, she began writing her own music at just 12 years of age. It went on to sell over 12 million copies globally and earned her five Grammy Awards in 2002.
Keys' sophomore effort, *The Diary of Alicia Keys* (2003), was another triumph, featuring hits like "You Don't Know My Name" and "If I Ain't Got You," and securing her four more Grammy Awards. The following years saw her release several successful albums, including *As I Am* (2007), which produced the chart-topping "No One." Throughout her career, she has ventured into acting, made notable collaborations, and received numerous accolades, including 15 Grammy Awards.
Beyond her music, Keys is celebrated for her humanitarian efforts, particularly her advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS through her organization, Keep a Child Alive. With over 35 million albums sold and recognition as a musical icon, she continues to inspire many worldwide.
