Kjell Bergqvist
Biography
Kjell Bergqvist, whose full name is Kjell Bertil Leonard Bergqvist, was born on February 23, 1953, in Enskede, Stockholm County, Sweden. He is a renowned actor in the Swedish film and television industry.
Bergqvist graduated from Dramatens elevskola in 1973, marking the beginning of his acting career with roles in "En enkel melodi" and "Jack." He has had a longstanding collaboration with writer and director Ulf Malmros, which has contributed significantly to his body of work. Throughout the 1990s, he appeared in various police dramas, portraying the character Kollberg, who is a colleague of Martin Beck. In 1997, he showcased his versatility by playing two distinct roles in the Swedish horror series "Chock." His performance in "Den bästa sommaren" in 2001 earned him a Guldbagge award for Best Actor, and he received a nomination for his lead role as Leif in "Leva livet" the following year.
In his personal life, Kjell was previously married to Yvonne Ryding, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1984; however, they are now divorced. Additionally, he once ventured into a textile business alongside Tarek bin Laden, the half-brother of Osama bin Laden.
