Encouraged by his mother, Jiayin participated in a model examination held in Shenyang, where he caught the attention of actor Lv Xiaohe, who recognized his potential and inspired him to pursue acting as a career.

In 2002, Lei Jiayin achieved a significant milestone by securing a spot at the prestigious Shanghai Theatre Academy, where he ranked second in the national admissions exam, underscoring his talent and dedication.
