Biography

Joshua Winslow Groban, born on February 27, 1981, is an acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and actor. With his first four solo albums achieving multi-platinum status, Groban was recognized as the number-one best-selling artist in the United States in 2007, having sold over 22.3 million records. By 2012, his global record sales had surpassed 25 million.

His rise to fame began when music producer David Foster invited him to fill in for Andrea Bocelli during a rehearsal of "The Prayer" with Celine Dion for the 1998 Grammy Awards. This performance led to an appearance on Rosie O'Donnell's talk show and a singing engagement at California Governor Gray Davis' inauguration in 1999.

In 2001, Groban made a memorable guest appearance on the popular series "Ally McBeal," singing "You're Still You" in the season four finale. His theater career took off with his 2016 Broadway debut as Pierre Bezukhov in "Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812," earning him critical acclaim and a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. His performance at the 72nd Tony Awards led to two Primetime Emmy nominations.

Additionally, Groban starred as Tony Caruso Jr. in Netflix's "The Good Cop," hosted "Rising Star," and appeared in films such as "Crazy, Stupid, Love," "Muppets Most Wanted," and "The Hollars." He also played notable roles in "The Crazy Ones" and "The Office."
