Bruno Ganz (March 22, 1941 – February 16, 2019) was a distinguished Swiss actor celebrated for his profound contributions to both stage and film. He began his theatrical journey in 1961, quickly earning acclaim for his compelling performances. In 1970, he co-founded the renowned Berlin theater company "Schaubühne" with director Peter Stein, which became a significant force in the German theater scene.
Ganz's initial foray into film was in 1960; however, it did not garner much attention. It wasn't until 1975, with his role in "Sommergäste," that he truly showcased his talent for introspective and reflective acting. His portrayal in this film marked a turning point in his career, establishing him as a formidable presence in cinema.
Among his most notable works is his unforgettable performance in "Der Untergang" (2004), where he portrayed Adolf Hitler in the final days of the Third Reich, earning him international acclaim.
