Biography
Youssef Hajdi, born on June 8, 1979, in Tarascon, France, is a talented actor known for his diverse roles in both film and theater. Growing up in Beaucaire, the son of Moroccan immigrants, Hajdi moved to Paris at 20 to pursue his passion for acting. He honed his craft at the café-theater scene and the théâtre de l’Avancée before studying under the esteemed Jack Waltzer, a prominent member of the Actors Studio, from 2002 to 2005.
Hajdi's breakthrough came with his role in the 2008 film 13 m², directed by Barthélémy Grossmann, which garnered him a nomination for the prestigious César Award. His filmography includes notable projects such as Luc Besson's Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Micmacs à tire-larigot. In 2012, he appeared alongside Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte in the comedy De l'autre côté du périph, directed by David Charhon. He also collaborated with Éric Judor in the 2013 film Mohamed Dubois, directed by Ernesto Ona.
In 2014, he showcased his talent in La Dernière Échappée, portraying Dr. Eddy Clavel, who cared for cycling legend Laurent Fignon, played by Samuel Le Bihan. Additionally, in 2015, Hajdi lent his voice to the animated film Pourquoi j'ai pas mangé mon père, produced by Jamel Debbouze.
