Julie Carmen, born on April 4, 1954, in Millburn, New Jersey, is a talented American actress and a licensed psychotherapist. She gained significant recognition in the 1980s, particularly for her performance in John Cassavetes’ acclaimed film *Gloria*, for which she received the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival.
Carmen honed her acting skills under the guidance of renowned teachers, including Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse and Uta Hagen at HB Studios. Beyond her acting career, she has made notable contributions to the film industry. She served on the Board of Directors for Women in Film for three years and was actively involved with IFP/West for six years, advocating for the representation of women in the film sector.
