Shazad Latif, originally named Iqbal Amin, was born on July 8, 1988, in the United Kingdom. He has established himself as a prominent actor in both television and film. Latif gained widespread recognition for his role as Tariq Masood in the acclaimed BBC series *Spooks*, where he showcased his talent for dramatic storytelling. He further captivated audiences with his comedic performance as Clem H. Fandango in the quirky series *Toast of London*.
One of his most notable roles came in the gothic horror series *Penny Dreadful*, where he portrayed the complex character of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In 2017, he expanded his repertoire by joining the iconic *Star Trek* franchise as Ash Tyler in *Star Trek: Discovery*, which is available on CBS All Access (now known as Paramount+).
