Biography
Sabine Azéma, born on September 20, 1949, in Paris, is a distinguished French actress and director known for her extensive work in theater and film. A graduate of the prestigious Paris Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Azéma launched her cinematic journey in 1975.
Her career took a significant turn with her role in the film "A Sunday in the Country" (1984), which earned her the César Award for Best Actress. Throughout her career, she has collaborated closely with acclaimed director Alain Resnais, featuring in several of his noteworthy films. Among these are "Life Is a Bed of Roses" (1983), "L'Amour à mort" (1984), and "Mélo," the latter of which garnered her a second César Award for Best Actress. Azéma's impressive filmography also includes "Smoking/No Smoking" (1993), "On connaît la chanson" (1997), "Pas sur la bouche" (2003), and "Cœurs" (2006).
