Biography
Frank Faylen, originally named Francis Charles Ruf, was a prominent American actor known for his work across stage, film, and television. Born on March 8, 1905, he carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry with memorable roles that showcased his versatile talent. Faylen gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the jaded male nurse in the classic film The Lost Weekend (1945), a performance that left a lasting impact on audiences. He followed this success with his role as Ernie, the amiable taxi driver in the beloved holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life (1946), further solidifying his place in cinematic history.
In addition to his film achievements, Faylen became a household name in the 1950s through his role as the beleaguered grocer Herbert T.
