James D'Arcy, originally named Simon Richard D'Arcy, was born on August 24, 1975, in England. He is a versatile actor and film director, recognized for his compelling performances. D'Arcy gained significant attention for his role as Edwin Jarvis, the loyal butler to Howard Stark, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series "Agent Carter," as well as in the blockbuster film "Avengers: Endgame" released in 2019. Additionally, he portrayed the character Lee Ashworth, a murder suspect, in the second season of the acclaimed ITV series "Broadchurch."
