Biography

Lisa Pelikan, born on July 12, 1954, in Berkeley, California, is a distinguished American actress celebrated for her work in stage, film, and television. The daughter of psychologist Helen L. and international economist Robert G. Pelikan, she honed her craft at the prestigious Juilliard School, where she received a full scholarship to its drama division.

Pelikan's cinematic journey began with a notable performance as the younger version of Vanessa Redgrave in the critically acclaimed film "Julia" (1977), a role that contributed to Redgrave's Oscar win. She later captivated audiences as Sarah Hargrave, a widowed mother, in "Return to the Blue Lagoon" (1991).

Her television career took off with her portrayal of maid Kate Mahaffey in the CBS soap opera "Beacon Hill." Pelikan's versatility shone through in the miniseries "Studs Lonigan" (1979), where she played the spirited Lucy Scanlon, as well as in the horror film "Jennifer" (1978), where she took on the titular role.

In addition to her screen work, Pelikan earned a Drama-Logue Award for her compelling one-woman show about Zelda Fitzgerald, titled "Only a Broken String of Pearls."

Previously married to actor Bruce Davison, Pelikan has one son, Ethan, and the couple has since divorced. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a profound commitment to her craft, leaving a lasting impact on the performing arts.
