Eason Chan Yik-Shun stands out as a leading figure in Hong Kong's music landscape, particularly notable in the era following the 1997 handover. Widely recognized as one of the most influential male artists in Cantopop, he has garnered acclaim from prestigious outlets, including Time magazine, which heralded him as a forerunner of a new generation in the genre. Some fans even regard him as the third "god of song" in Hong Kong, following legends Samuel Hui and Jacky Cheung.

Chan's 2005 Cantonese album, *U87*, received international recognition when Time magazine listed it among the "Five Asian Albums Worth Buying."
