Shohreh Aghdashloo, born on May 11, 1952, is an acclaimed Iranian American actress known for her powerful performances across both film and television. Aghdashloo began her artistic journey in Iran, where she gained recognition in theater and film. However, in the wake of the Iranian Revolution in 1979, she relocated to England before eventually settling in the United States as a citizen.

For years, she took on supporting roles in various productions, but it was her captivating performance in "House of Sand and Fog" (2003) that marked a significant turning point in her career.
