Lila Kedrova, born on October 9, 1918, in Russia, was a prominent actress who later became a French citizen. She achieved significant acclaim for her performances, notably winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film "Zorba the Greek" in 1964. Additionally, she received a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of the same character in the musical adaptation of the film. Kedrova’s talent and versatility allowed her to shine in both film and theater, earning her recognition and admiration throughout her career. She passed away on February 16, 2000, leaving behind a legacy marked by her exceptional contributions to the performing arts.
