Rodney Glen King was a taxi driver who gained worldwide attention after a video surfaced depicting his brutal beating by officers of the Los Angeles Police Department on March 3, 1991. This incident occurred after King led police on a high-speed pursuit. A bystander named George Holliday recorded a significant portion of the assault from his balcony and subsequently provided the footage to the local news outlet KTLA.
