Ken Pogue
Biography
Kenneth Pogue (July 26, 1934 – December 15, 2015) was a distinguished Canadian actor whose career spanned several decades across film, television, and theater. Pogue made his cinematic debut in 1973 with a role in *The Neptune Factor*, where he faced a near-drowning incident while wearing scuba gear, showcasing the risks actors sometimes encounter.
Over the years, Pogue honed his craft on stage, performing at prestigious venues such as the Crest Theatre, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, and the Guthrie Theater throughout the 1960s to the 1980s. His theatrical background laid a strong foundation for his later work in film and television.
His filmography includes notable roles in several acclaimed films, such as *The Silent Partner* (1978), *Lost and Found* (1979), and *The Grey Fox* (1982). Pogue also appeared in *The Dead Zone* (1983) as the vice president, and in the miniseries *Kane & Abel* (1985). Further contributions to cinema came in *Act of Vengeance* (1986), *Dead of Winter* (1987), and *Crazy Moon* (1987), culminating in a role alongside Chuck Norris in *The Hitman* (1991). In his later years, he portrayed Father Dominic in the 2006 film *The Mermaid Chair*, leaving a lasting impact on the Canadian entertainment industry with his versatile performances.
