Biography
Alexandra Ruth Shipp, born on July 16, 1991, is a talented American actress and singer. She gained initial recognition for her role as KT Rush in Nickelodeon's mystery teen drama series, House of Anubis, which aired from 2011 to 2013. However, she truly captured the spotlight when she portrayed the legendary singer Aaliyah in the 2014 Lifetime biopic, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. Following this breakthrough, she played Kimberly Woodruff in the acclaimed 2015 film Straight Outta Compton, which earned an Academy Award nomination.
Shipp has since become widely recognized for her portrayal of Storm in the X-Men film series, beginning with X-Men: Apocalypse. Her versatility as an actress is further showcased in the 2018 romantic comedy Love, Simon, where she took on the role of Abby Suso. Additionally, she appeared in Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical drama, Tick, Tick... Boom!, as Susan Wilson, demonstrating her dynamic range in both drama and music.
