Biography

Robert John Odenkirk, born on October 22, 1962, is an acclaimed American actor, comedian, and filmmaker, celebrated primarily for his portrayal of Saul Goodman in the critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad (2008–2013) and its successful prequel, Better Call Saul (2015–2022). His performance in Better Call Saul earned him five nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Additionally, he served as a producer on the series, garnering six nominations for Outstanding Drama Series.

Odenkirk's career began to flourish with the HBO sketch comedy Mr. Show with Bob and David (1995–1998), which he co-created and starred in alongside David Cross. The duo later reunited for the Netflix series W/ Bob & David in 2015, bringing back the beloved cast of Mr. Show.

His writing talents were recognized early on, with Odenkirk contributing to iconic shows such as Saturday Night Live (1987–1991) and The Ben Stiller Show (1992), winning Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in both 1989 and 1993. He also had a recurring role on The Larry Sanders Show (1993–1998) and produced the cult hits Tom Goes to the Mayor (2004–2006) and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (2007–2010).

Odenkirk's film credits include notable works such as Nebraska (2013), Fargo (2014), Steven Spielberg's The Post (2017), Pixar's Incredibles 2 (2018), Little Women (2019), and he took the lead in the action film Nobody (2021), which he also produced.
