Peyman Maadi, born in 1970 in New York City to Iranian parents, spent his early childhood in Iran after his family returned when he was just five. He pursued higher education in Metallurgical Engineering at Karaj Azad University, but his true passion lay in the realm of cinema. Maadi embarked on his film career as a screenwriter in the late 2000s, contributing to several acclaimed Iranian films that showcased his storytelling prowess.
His acting debut came in 2009 with Asghar Farhadi's critically acclaimed film *About Elly*, which marked the beginning of a successful transition to acting. Maadi's standout performance as Nader in Farhadi's *A Separation* (2011) garnered him widespread recognition and acclaim, culminating in the prestigious Silver Bear for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Berlin International Film Festival. This award solidified his status as a formidable talent in the film industry.
