Biography

Clémentine Célarié, born Meryem Célarié on October 12, 1957, in Dakar, Senegal (then a French colony), is a multifaceted French artist recognized for her work as an actress, comedian, writer, director, and singer.

After completing her Baccalaureate, she spent a year in the United States before returning to France, where she pursued acting classes and embarked on a successful career in the performing arts.

Célarié is the proud mother of three sons: Abraham, Gustave, and Balthazar. She currently resides in Aix-en-Provence.

In 1994, she made headlines when she participated in a Sidaction television event hosted by Christophe Dechavanne. During the program, she famously kissed an HIV-positive man, an act intended to combat stigma surrounding the virus and promote awareness.

In the political realm, Célarié expressed her support for François Hollande during the 2012 presidential election, aligning herself with the Socialist Party.
