Caterina Murino, born on September 15, 1977, in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, is a distinguished actress known for her captivating performances across multiple film industries. Her journey into the limelight began in 1996 when she achieved fourth place in the Miss Italy pageant. This success propelled her to Milan, where she launched her modeling career, featuring in commercials for renowned brands such as Mastercard, Swatch, Mercedes Benz, and Nescafé.
Determined to pursue acting, Murino honed her craft at the Scuola di Cinema e Teatro di Francesca de Sapio in Italy from 1999 to 2000. She made her theatrical debut in 1999 with a production of Richard III, followed by performances in various Italian plays. Murino's foray into film and television began in 2002, where she appeared in minor roles in Italian, German, and French productions. Her significant break came in 2004 when she shared the screen with Jean Reno in the French comedy "L'enquête Corse."
A trilingual talent, Murino is fluent in French and English, in addition to her native Italian. Beyond her acting prowess, she is also an accomplished athlete, showcasing her skills in singing, tango, flamenco, and oriental dance, as well as horseback riding.
