Richard Gabai

Biography

Richard Gabai is a seasoned filmmaker with a rich and varied portfolio in the realms of film and television. His career took off with a collection of cult classics, genre films, and family-oriented projects, including the Quentin Tarantino favorite "Vice Girls," the Genesis Award-winning "The Bike Squad," and the innovative "Call of the Wild 3D."

His film "InSight," featuring Natalie Zea, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Christopher Lloyd, was released theatrically to positive reviews, with Yahoo Movies praising its direction and performances. The film later enjoyed a world television premiere on A&E Networks.

Following this success, Gabai directed and produced seven successive feature films for A&E, including "Imaginary Friend" with Ethan Embry and Lacey Chabert, "In The Dark" featuring Elisabeth Rohm, and "The Good Mother" starring Helen Slater. His critically acclaimed "The Wrong Woman" became A&E’s highest-rated acquisition ever, followed by "Expecting Amish," which debuted as the top-rated cable program, and "Mommy I Didn't Do It."

His western, "Justice," featuring Nathan Parsons and Stephen Lang, was acquired by Universal for theatrical and digital release. Gabai also directed two films for The Hallmark Channel, "A Gingerbread Romance" and "A Feeling of Home."

In 2020, he received an Emmy nomination for producing the popular Amazon series "The Bay." Additionally, he was involved in producing "Supercross" and the acclaimed film "Beautiful Boy," which starred Michael Sheen. A graduate of USC, Richard resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three children.
