Carrie Frances Fisher (October 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016) was a multi-talented American actress, author, screenwriter, and speaker. Born to renowned performers Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, she rose to prominence through her iconic role as Princess Leia Organa in the original Star Wars trilogy. In addition to her acting career, Fisher authored the bestselling novel Postcards from the Edge, which she also adapted into a screenplay for the film of the same title.
