Biography

Roy Evans is a distinguished English actor whose career spanned several decades, notably from the 1960s until 2004. He showcased his versatility across a variety of British television series, with memorable roles in classics such as *Doctor Who*, where he portrayed characters like Trantis in "The Daleks' Master Plan," Bert in "The Green Death," and a miner in "The Monster of Peladon." His credits also include appearances in *Blake's 7* as a Slave in the episode "Redemption," Arthur in *Porterhouse Blue*, and Harry the coach driver in the iconic *Only Fools and Horses* episode "The Jolly Boys' Outing." Additionally, he contributed to *The Black Adder*, often taking on peasant roles.

Born in Fishponds, Evans was adopted by Edmund Evans and Clarice Augusta Georgina May Evans (née Gowen). His journey into the performing arts began in his teenage years when he moved to London, aspiring to be both a dancer and an actor. His dance career highlights include a performance at the Nottingham Theatre Royal in 1951 with the International Ballet Company and a significant engagement as the principal male ballet dancer with the Swedish national ballet.
