Biography
Lee You-young, a talented South Korean actress, was born on December 8, 1989. She made a remarkable entrance into the film industry with her debut in the 2014 movie “Late Spring.” Her performance earned her the distinction of being the first Korean actress to win the Best Actress award at the 14th Milan International Film Festival, along with multiple accolades for Best New Actress. Following her successful start, Lee continued to impress audiences with her roles in various short films and feature-length movies.
In 2017, she transitioned to television, making her small-screen debut in the drama series “Tunnel.” Her personal life gained public attention when it was revealed in December 2016 that she was in a relationship with her co-star, Kim Joo-hyuk. Tragically, Kim passed away in a traffic accident on October 30, 2017, leaving a profound impact on Lee and the entertainment industry.
Lee's talent has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Best New Actress accolade for “The Treacherous” at the 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards on November 26, 2015, and for her role in "Late Spring" at the 52nd Daejong Film Awards on November 20, 2015.
