Erika Sawajiri, born on April 8, 1986, in Nerima, Tokyo, is a prominent Japanese actress, model, and musician. She initially gained recognition in the music industry under the stage name Kaoru Amane, and more recently, she has launched her own musical endeavors using her real name, Erika. For a significant part of her career, she was associated with Sony Music Entertainment Japan, both as Kaoru Amane and later as Erika, while also being represented by Stardust Promotion. However, her contract with Stardust was concluded in late 2009.
Erika's breakout role came in the critically acclaimed drama "1 Litre of Tears," where she portrayed a young woman battling spinocerebellar degeneration—a performance that resonated deeply with audiences and showcased her acting prowess. In 2010, she transitioned to a new chapter by signing with Avex for both talent management and music production, marking a significant shift in her career trajectory.
