Biography
Carole Bouquet, born on August 18, 1957, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, is a renowned French actress and former fashion model with an impressive filmography of over 40 films since her debut in 1977. She gained international acclaim for her portrayal of Melina Havelock, the iconic Bond girl in the 1981 film *For Your Eyes Only*. Bouquet's career flourished in the 1980s, with standout performances in several European films, and she continues to act in France today.
One of her most notable roles was in Luis Buñuel's critically acclaimed surrealist film *That Obscure Object of Desire* (1977). Additionally, she earned a César Award for Best Actress for her role in *Too Beautiful For You* (1989) and received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in *Rive droite, rive gauche* (1984).
In the 1980s and 1990s, Bouquet was also a prominent model for Chanel. She was previously married to producer Jean-Pierre Rassam, with whom she has a son, Dimitri Rassam. Between 1997 and 2005, she had a notable relationship with actor Gérard Depardieu, with whom she collaborated on several projects. Bouquet was engaged to him from 2003 until their separation in 2005. In 1999, she served as a jury member at the 4th Shanghai International Film Festival, further showcasing her influence in the film industry.
