Dean Cameron
Biography
Dean Cameron, born Dean Eikleberry on December 25, 1962, in Morrison, Illinois, is a prominent American actor recognized for his work in both television and film. He gained widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Francis "Chainsaw" Gremp in the 1987 comedy "Summer School," starring alongside Mark Harmon.
Cameron's television career includes roles in several short-lived series such as "Spencer" (1984), "Fast Times" (1986)—a spin-off of the classic film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"—and "They Came from Outer Space" (1990). He also appeared in notable guest spots on popular shows like "The Facts of Life," "ALF," "Will & Grace," and "ER," showcasing his versatility as an actor.
In film, he played Dave Marshak in the cult classics "Ski School" and its sequel. Beyond acting, Cameron has made significant contributions as a writer and director. He co-wrote the feature film "Hollywood Palms" in 2001, directed and choreographed the well-received musical parody "Bukowsical," and directed the music video "Fat Girl" for the heavy metal band Steel Panther.
Cameron has also ventured into voice-over work since 1999, lending his talents to various radio and television commercials. In 2006, he debuted the role of Carl in "Love Tapes," a play inspired by fan correspondence with guitarist Steve Vai, which was directed by his wife, Jessie Marion. Dean Cameron continues to reside in Los Angeles with Marion and their son, Duncan, born on August 1, 2009.
