Anamaria Vartolomei, born on April 9, 1999, is a talented French-Romanian actress who first emerged in the film industry as a child actress in the 2011 movie My Little Princess. Her remarkable performance in the critically acclaimed film Happening (2021) earned her significant recognition, as she won the Lumières Award for Best Actress and the César Award for Most Promising Actress. Vartolomei has also been highlighted on lists by UniFrance and Screen International as one of the rising French talents to watch.
Originating from Bacău, Romania, Vartolomei spent her early years in the village of Plopu in Dărmănești. When she was just two years old, her parents began working abroad, first in England and later in France, leaving her in the care of her grandparents. At the age of six, she reunited with her parents in Issy-les-Moulineaux. For her education, she attended l'école Anatole France and pursued her passion for acting at the Cours Florent and Les Enfants Terribles. Although she was accepted into the Sorbonne, Vartolomei chose to prioritize her acting ambitions over formal education, a decision that has clearly paid off in her burgeoning career.
