Melissa Marie Benoist, born on October 4, 1988, is a multifaceted American actress, singer, and producer. She first gained significant attention for her role as Marley Rose in the acclaimed Fox musical series Glee, where she became a series regular in its fifth season from 2012 to 2014. Benoist achieved widespread fame for her portrayal of the titular character in the CBS/CW superhero series Supergirl, which aired from 2015 to 2021, and became a pivotal part of the Arrowverse franchise.
In addition to her television success, Benoist has made notable contributions to film.
