Judd Seymore Hirsch, born on March 15, 1935, is a distinguished American actor celebrated for his extensive contributions to television, theatre, and film. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Alex Rieger in the classic comedy series *Taxi*, which aired from 1978 to 1983. Hirsch also captivated audiences as John Lacey in *Dear John* from 1988 to 1992 and as Alan Eppes in the crime drama *Numb3rs* from 2005 to 2010.
Beyond television, Hirsch has made a significant impact in cinema with notable performances in acclaimed films such as *Ordinary People* (1980), *Running on Empty* (1988), *Independence Day* (1996), *A Beautiful Mind* (2001), *Independence Day: Resurgence* (2016), *Uncut Gems* (2019), and *The Fabelmans* (2022).
