Biography
Jean Edmond Dujardin, born on June 19, 1972, is a celebrated French actor and comedian. He embarked on his professional journey as a stand-up comedian in Paris, eventually making his mark through guest appearances in various comedic TV shows and films. Dujardin gained significant recognition through the popular TV series *Un gars, une fille*, where he starred alongside his then-partner, Alexandra Lamy. His film career took off with titles like *Brice de Nice*, and he showcased his comedic talent in Michel Hazanavicius's *OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies* and its sequel, *OSS 117: Lost in Rio*, along with *99 Francs*.
His breakthrough came in 2011 with his portrayal of George Valentin in the acclaimed silent film *The Artist*, a role that catapulted him to international stardom and earned him an array of prestigious accolades. Dujardin made history by becoming the first French actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actor, along with a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his remarkable performance.
