Camille Mitchell
Biography
Camille Mitchell is a celebrated actress known for her remarkable range in both theater and television. She has made a significant impact as a leading performer at the Stratford and Shaw festivals, earning accolades such as being described by The London Times as "a gift to the theater." In 2011, she captivated audiences in her portrayal of Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate" at the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver.
Mitchell gained recognition for her role as the formidable Sheriff Nancy Adams on Warner Brothers' "Smallville" (2001), where her performance over five seasons earned her a nomination for the Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series. Her television credits also feature memorable roles, including Evelyn in "Life Unexpected" (2010), Becca in "The L Word," and the ethereal Ingrid Rayne in "Poltergeist: The Legacy" (1996) on Showtime, as well as Roxanne, a hyper model's agent on CTV’s "Madison" (1993).
Her guest appearances include Vesta in "Caprica" (2010), and roles in "The Chris Isaak Show" (2001), "Mysterious Ways" (2000), "The Outer Limits" (1995), and "Peacemakers" (2003). On the film front, she has appeared in "Concrete Blondes" (2012) and "Frankie and Hazel." A recipient of Canada's Jessie Award for her performance as Ariel in "The Tempest," Mitchell was born in Santa Monica to Hollywood actor Cameron Mitchell and Viennese actress Joanna Mitchell, later growing up in Vancouver and studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
