Ke Huy Quan
Biography
Ke Huy Quan, born on August 20, 1971, in Vietnam, is an accomplished American actor celebrated for his remarkable contributions to film. He is also known by the name Jonathan Ke Quan. Quan's family relocated to the United States when he was a child, where he quickly made a name for himself in Hollywood. He gained widespread recognition as a child actor, portraying the spirited character Short Round in the classic film *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom* (1984) and the inventive Data in *The Goonies* (1985).
After a handful of roles in the 1990s, Quan stepped away from acting for nearly two decades, during which he honed his skills in the industry as a stunt choreographer and assistant director. His return to the screen came with the family-friendly adventure *Finding ʻOhana* (2021), but it was his performance in the genre-bending film *Everything Everywhere All at Once* (2022) that marked a significant comeback. This role earned him multiple awards, including the prestigious Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, making him the first actor of Vietnamese descent to achieve this honor.
In 2023, Time magazine recognized his impressive influence by including him in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Additionally, he appeared in the second season of the Disney+ series *Loki*, further establishing his presence in contemporary cinema.
