Catherine Frot, born on May 1, 1956, in Paris, France, is a distinguished French actress renowned for her compelling performances on both stage and screen. Throughout her illustrious career, she has garnered ten nominations for the prestigious César Award, securing wins for Best Actress for her role in *Marguerite* (2015) and Best Supporting Actress for *Family Resemblances* (1996).
Raised in a family with an engineering and teaching background, Catherine's affinity for the performing arts became evident early on. She began her formal training at the Versailles conservatory at the age of fourteen and later studied at the Rue Blanche school. Frot made her theatrical debut in 1975 at the Festival d'Avignon, co-founding the Compagnie du Chapeau Rouge. Her stage career flourished with notable roles, including the iconic Présidente de Tourvel in *Les Liaisons dangereuses* (1987) and appearances in classical works like *La Cerisaie* (1982) and *La Mouette* (1985).
