Paul Picerni
Biography
Paul Picerni's journey to becoming a celebrated actor began with a childhood ambition of pursuing law. However, his trajectory shifted dramatically after an eighth-grade play, which earned him praise from his school principal, who dubbed him "a born actor." Following his service in the Air Force during World War II, Picerni honed his craft in local theater productions and on stage at Loyola University.
His big break came while performing in a play in Hollywood, where he was discovered by Solly V. Bianco, the talent head at Warner Brothers. This fortuitous encounter led to his first film role in *Le grand assaut* (1950), a WWII action film that paved the way for a contract with Warner Brothers and a fruitful acting career.
Picerni is perhaps best remembered for his memorable supporting role in the classic television series *Les incorruptibles* (1959), alongside Robert Stack. Throughout his life, he has balanced his flourishing career with family, becoming a proud father of eight and a grandfather of ten. His journey from aspiring attorney to accomplished actor stands as a testament to the transformative power of unforeseen opportunities.
