Scott Hylands
Biography
Scott Hylands is a distinguished Canadian actor recognized for his impactful performances across stage, film, and television. He gained widespread acclaim for his role as Detective Kevin 'O. B.' O'Brien in the police drama series Night Heat, which aired from 1985 to 1989. Hylands earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver in 1964.
After relocating to the United States, he became one of the founding members of the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, where he showcased his talent in over 20 productions. Throughout the following 15 years, Hylands built an extensive portfolio in both film and television in Los Angeles, while also maintaining a strong presence in the theatre scene. He frequently performed at renowned venues such as the Mark Taper Forum, the Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival, and Theatricum Botanicum.
In 1981, Hylands returned to Canada and continued to thrive in the theatre circuit, participating in numerous productions across the country. His career has spanned decades, marked by various film and television appearances that further solidified his reputation as a versatile and accomplished actor. With his extensive body of work, Scott Hylands remains a prominent figure in the Canadian performing arts landscape.
